Week 7 Blog Post
The song that I chose to listen to this week is Respect, by Aretha Franklin. I've already heard this song before so I knew I would already like it for my blog post. I love the mood this puts me in, it's super upbeat and fun! I love all the different instruments that are in this song it really adds a lot of depth to the track. One of the parts that I love is the beginning intro of this song when it's just instruments. It sets a really good tone for the rest of this song. The song is super fun, but I'm pretty sure it has a deeper meaning that isn't as fun. It talks about showing respect, which a lot of woman especially black woman didn't really get during this time period. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I got out of this song haha. I love when songs have deeper meanings than what the average listener might pick up. Overall, I loved this song and the vibe it gives off, super fun to listen to!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way with how I feel about this song. It does have such a fun tempo and beat to it. I can always listen to this song and jam out to it. I think it has good lyrics that listeners can follow along and sing along as well. I think you are spot on when it comes to the meaning of the song because that makes the most sense to the time.
I also did the song "respect" for this weeks blog. I totally agree with you that it just puts you in a good mood and its just a fun song. I really enjoy this song and I would defiantly listen to this song again. I love your meaning of the song I think you hit it spot on.
ReplyDeleteHi Rylee! I almost did my post on this song, just because it's so good. I wanna start off by saying that when people talk about respect, it's usually in a serious manner. But Aretha Franklin has made it very fun and amusing to think of. Great post, I enjoyed reading!
